Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) and Social Research services

Ensuring the effective use of resources invested in development focused interventions is crucial for enhancing the impact on people’s lives. This is why at ODS we use various methods to gather and analyse the data required to assess the effectiveness of development programmes and projects. Our approach to Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) takes into account the specific context of development interventions. The approach is flexible and adaptive as it is informed by evidence and emerging issues.

At ODS we have highly qualified team members and associates with extensive experience in conducting monitoring and evaluation work for various donors, governments, NGOs, foundations and the private sector. Our M&E work informs the design and implementation of development interventions leading to an improvement of these interventions. This ultimately results in positive change in the lives of the poor and most vulnerable. Our M&E includes, but is not limited to, the following activities:

  • Conducting baseline studies;
  • Programme/Project Log frame development and review (including setting targets; developing indicators, inputs, outputs & outcomes);
  • Design of M&E plans & systems (including staff responsibility allocation; costing of activities & stakeholder involvement strategy);
  • Data collection (including primary and secondary research; quantitative & qualitative data collection);
  • Data analysis and reporting;
  • M&E information management;
  • M&E capacity building for organisations, companies, agencies etc.
